We are seeking a Senior Grant Accountant to work with financial, grant, and government healthcare leaders to ensure development, compliance, auditing, accounting, and analysis of multiple grants.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a system of financial accounting, reporting, and record keeping in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
- Apply knowledge of Uniform Grant Management Standards (UGMS) and Federal Uniform Grants Guidance (UGG).
- Responsible for the monitoring of grant activity.
- Work closely with Program Directors (Grant org set-up, periodic invoicing, helps with monthly, quarterly or yearly reporting, budget revisions and grant close out).
- Responsible for recording monthly and yearly accruals for grant draws or invoices.
- Responsible for expense review and approval processes related to funding drawdowns from federal agencies.
- Maintain Grant spreadsheet for current and pending government grants.
- Communicate with faculty, staff, and outside contacts to provide financial and accounting information and support as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of internal control requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including project and committee work.
Qualifications
- Required Experience (3 years):
- Experience in grant accounting
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience and proficiency in Accounting Software tools, like QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite
- Experience and proficiency in Fund Accounting Software Systems like Financial Edge NXT, AccuFund, Aplos, etc.
- Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Experience with Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB)
- Experience applying knowledge of Uniform Grant Management Standards (UGMS) and Experience with Federal Uniform Grants Guidance (UGG)
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience with a non-profit entity.
- Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
