What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Designer position at The Event Company - South Dakota?
We are seeking an Event Designer to lead efforts in the planning of corporate, non-profit social events. Many of these events will take place throughout the five-state region; however, some will be located in other parts of the country. Event Designer candidates must be willing to work occasional evenings weekends have the ability to travel.
As an Event Designer, you will play a critical role in bringing client visions to life from concept through execution. Responsibilities include:
Event Planning Execution
- Lead the coordination of event logistics, timelines production details
- Participate in client design sessions to understand goals, vision audience
- Conduct research to support event concepts, venues experiences
- Oversee venue sourcing, layout planning on-site execution
- Manage vendor relationships, including sourcing, communication contract negotiation
- Coordinate entertainment, talent booking program elements
- Participate in post-event debrief session to review successes opportunities
Design Collaboration
- Collaborate with Event Project Managers the Creative Team
- Contribute to the development of event design boards client presentations
- Assist the Event Project Manager with managing event budgets
- Stay informed on industry trends emerging event innovations
Vendor Partner Relations
- Serve as a key point of contact for event vendors partners
- Maintain clear, timely professional communication across all stakeholders
- Schedule lead vendor planning meetings
- Support the growth stewardship of long-term client relationships
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in event planning, project management, or vendor management
- Event Designer experience in corporate events, nonprofit fundraising, or development preferred
- Proven ability to manage events from concept through execution
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in project management tools (Asana, Trello, Basecamp or similar)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt under pressure
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset attention to detail
- Creative thinker with a strong eye for design detail
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office file-sharing tools
- Ability to lift /or move up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license reliable transportation willingness ability to travel as needed
