Job Description
As a Designer, you will be responsible for conducting design investigations, analyses, and creating CAD designs for new components and products based on customer and supplier information. You will ensure that all drawings adhere to company standards, assist in configuring and documenting existing designs, and revise product designs as needed. You will also work closely with manufacturing personnel to provide product support and contribute to the creation of product support literature. Your role will involve participating in continuous quality improvement programs by offering suggestions and demonstrating initiative.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and perform design investigations, analyses, and CAD designs for new components and products.
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards.
- Assist in configuring and documenting existing designs, revising as directed.
- Utilize numbering system and parts description nomenclature for components and assemblies.
- Contribute to the creation of product support literature.
- Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to provide product support.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement programs by offering suggestions and demonstrating initiative.
- Follow all organizational and departmental procedures, safety policies, and directives.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and sheet metal detailing.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in mechanical engineering.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of Creo and Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP systems.

You will work in an organized manufacturing environment. The company offers a high quality of work, serves major customers such as CAT and Burlington Railroad, and maintains high standards of customer service. The plant is very organized, and there is flexibility with hours. Employees are encouraged to make up hours as needed, and the facility is used to showcase the quality of work to potential candidates.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Sheldon, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
