Job Description: Social Enterprise Program Manager
The SE PM works closely with and supports the Program Director to build the SEED (Social Enterprise and Entrepreneur Development) Network, assisting social entrepreneurs through the full lifecycle of the entrepreneurship journey, from idea to scale, through its five-stage SE Development Pipeline.
This position is full-time, 40 hours per week (non-exempt, benefits available) and is located in Gaithersburg. The SE PM will help to build a network of mentors, partners and entrepreneurs while also providing guidance for the continued growth and health of the entrepreneurship program. Position may require some travel (reimbursable). Compensation range starts at $70,000 (and is commensurate with experience). This position is in-person.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This person will be responsible for the following:
· Understanding of and alignment with Cross Community’s mission, values, and strategy
· Supporting all involved stakeholders in addressing challenges and removing barriers as needed to drive accomplishment
· Recording and updating process resources including insights, lessons learned, impact metrics, and opportunities for improvement
· Supporting relationships between CCI staff, clients, mentors, and partners
· Working cross culturally and communicating with understanding to a diverse group of community members
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
o Collaborating with the Program Director and WeavingImpact on program strategy and drive implementation. Specifics:
o Identify, recruit and maintain a pipeline of entrepreneurs and mentors
o Program delivery and follow up
o Manage the ongoing support of entrepreneurs with mentors and partners
o Working with WeavingImpact to develop materials for promotion of programs and cohorts, and on the delivery of programs
o Liaising with external partners to recruit/select/support partner-driven industry-specific programming
o Representing CCI by attending events and being active in the local community and entrepreneurship ecosystem
o Supporting the developing of presentation decks, case study materials, and templates
o Facilitate the collection of impact metrics and surveys of both SEs and mentors
o Working with capital candidates to develop, hone, and present a strong and compelling case for why they should receive funding
o Helping to gather mentors to represent an “investor audience” for enterprise presentation rehearsal/feedback sessions
Skills & Qualifications
· Must pass a background check, must not have any pending cases, and must pass a National Sex Offender Registry background check.
· Must have a working phone and phone number.
· Possess cross-cultural competency with fluency in English and Spanish
· Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and Google Workspace
· Must be willing to be trained, and proficiently utilize database(s) and information tracking systems relevant to duties.
· Must keep confidentiality of participant information.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
· Comfortable with independent work as well as collaborating with a team
· Results oriented with ability to critically think, problem-solve, and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment
· Possesses a strong sense of ethics, integrity, and humility
· Be approachable, enthusiastic, and engaging
· Valid MD driver’s license, insurance, good driving record, access to a vehicle. Subject to driving background check.
Work Experience:
o Experience managing program-related events
o Business operations and entrepreneurial experience is a strong plus
o Experience with supporting enterprise growth, including entrepreneurial efforts to access various types of capital
o Ability to build consensus and trustworthy relationships among partners and employees, including SEs and mentors
o Excellent oral and written communication skills, including being comfortable communicating with stakeholders ranging from community-based entrepreneurs to board members
o Advanced emotional intelligence with an aptitude for managing stakeholders’ conflicting needs and potentially difficult conversations
o Passion for creating lasting social change through the creation of sustainable, resilient local economies
o Knowledge of general business software and aptitude for learning new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
o Facility with budgets, financial reports, and business operations
o Awareness of Montgomery County’s history and current reality of structural inequity and the long-term effects of marginalization of immigrants and target communities is a plus
