What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Paralegal position at The Epstein Group?
Junior Paralegal — Immigration
This is a starting role. You don't need to know immigration procedure, you'll be taught it, case by case, by a case manager who reviews your work with you every week. What you do need is care. A missed deadline or an unlogged call has real consequences for a real family.
What you'll do
- Collect and chase client documents until they arrive, not until you've asked once;
- Communicate with clients by phone, WhatsApp, SMS and email, in Portuguese and English;
- Pre-fill USCIS and Department of State forms for review, flagging every field needing client input;
- Log every call, message and document in systems;
- Track deadlines and raise them early;
- Assemble filing packages under supervision;
- Come to your weekly case review prepared, with files current;
What we're looking for
- Fluent Portuguese and English, written and spoken;
- Real attention to detail — this is the job;
- Organised and self-directed;
- Comfortable on the phone; much of the work is persuading someone to send a document they've been avoiding;
- Discretion with sensitive personal and financial information;
Legal or administrative experience is welcome but not required. Spanish, a paralegal certificate, or any prior immigration exposure are pluses.
Why join
Structured training, weekly one-to-one review of your caseload, exposure to the full range of immigration practice, and a clear path to a full paralegal role.
