Pet Assistant

Job Summary

We’re looking for dependable, compassionate animal lovers to join our team as Part-Time Pet Assistants. This position is perfect for someone looking for after-school or evening hours who enjoys staying active and providing exceptional care to dogs.

At The Emerald Paw, we believe every pet deserves a personalized experience. We use Fear Free principles, carefully monitor canine body language, and focus on creating a safe, positive environment for every guest.

Schedule

• Part-time
• Primarily afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ideal for high school seniors, college students, or anyone looking for after-school hours

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with dogs during playtime
• Monitor canine body language and ensure safe group interactions
• Clean and sanitize play areas, suites, and common spaces
• Feed meals and provide fresh water
• Assist with check-in and check-out procedures
• Follow individualized care plans for each pet
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming resort environment
• Work closely with the team to provide exceptional care every day

Qualifications

• Animal care experience preferred (boarding, daycare, veterinary, grooming, shelter, kennel, or similar)
• Comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities
• Dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Able to lift 50 pounds and remain active throughout your shift
• Comfortable working weekends and holidays
