Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
- Operate Square POS and Micros POS for order processing, payments, and cash handling
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food prep stations and seating areas
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries promptly
- Manage cash register transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations for sales and change
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures during food preparation and serving
- Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and ensuring product freshness
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service (required)
- Food Handler Certification (NYC compliant or willing to obtain immediately)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work in a team environment
- Available for evening and weekend shifts.
- Strong coffee knowledge and customer service
- Ability to handle volume and maintain consistency
- Previous barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is highly preferred
- Familiarity with Square POS
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor
- Ability to perform basic math for cashiering and retail math calculations accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Experience in serving, food preparation, or retail environments is advantageous
- Capable of standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced setting
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
