Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and seasonal specials that excite our guests
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food with precision and attention to detail
- Serve dishes promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction through excellent food presentation and timely service
- Follow all food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure the highest standards of hygiene are met
Skills
- Proven experience in food industry roles such as restaurant cook, dietary aide, or culinary assistant with a strong foundation in kitchen operations
- Exceptional knife skills for precise cutting, slicing, and dicing of ingredients
- Knowledge of food safety practices, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with meal preparation, food service, and catering operations is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of dietary department requirements and dietary aide experience is a plus
