Located at the heart of the Edgewater’s outdoor Plaza, The Icehouse is where we see all the action! Serving items such as burgers, clock-shadow cheese curds, drinks and snacks, we deliver a menu and service that gives our Madison lakeside a unique experience. In addition to serving Madison locals, The Icehouse also caters to guests of our beautiful 4-Star hotel. In the winter the Icehouse staff operate Madison’s only downtown ice rink!

The Icehouse is looking for motivated individuals to help us run operate our ice rink!

The Edgewater offers the highest quality of customer service delivered to our guests both in and out of our restaurants.

Ice Rink Attendant’s responsibilities include assisting in the daily opening and upkeep of our state-of-the-art ice rink, located in the Edgewater’s central outdoor plaza. Rink Attendants assist other Icehouse staff in customer service, food delivery and general care of the Icehouse area. Above all else, Ice rink Attendants provide a safe, courteous, and efficient rink area for our customers, while they provide these guest services. Additional Qualifications

• Must be available for a minimum of three (3) shifts per week and able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of general safety practices.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
• Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
• Interact with all levels of customers and hotel management.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a counter-service, professional restaurant environment. Ice Rink Attendants are required to use standard equipment such as point-of-sale computers, cash registers, and are required to work in our kitchen areas, rental shop areas and on the Ice Rink when assisting other team members. This position requires evening/weekend work. 

Physical Abilities

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. Must be able to read, write and determine wait time based on Icehouse procedures. Must be able to visually scan the work areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are being upheld. The position spends the majority of their scheduled shift outside. The position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 50 pounds, shovel ice and snow, and work outside in winter weather conditions.
