YOUR NEW ROLE AS OUR WATER/WASTEWATER OPERATOR-IN-TRAINING
In this full-time water/wastewater operator-in-training role, you will work closely with our Operations Department staff to observe, maintain, and repair water and wastewater facilities under the observation of a licensed Water/Wastewater Operator.
Starting the day as a Water/Wastewater Operator-In-Training, you will work under the supervision of one of our licensed Water/Wastewater Operators. From learning process control calculations to communicating worksite statistics and safety information with department staff, you will have the opportunity to learn about the role under the direction of a licensed employee. Throughout the day, you will work with field staff to complete processes and testing. By day's end, you've played a key role in daily inspection reporting and communicating updates from the field to office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR WATER/WASTEWATER OPERATOR-IN-TRAINING
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania Water, Wastewater, Collections, and/or Distribution license
- Valid PA Driver's License and the ability to pass a background check if required
- Must be willing to work outdoors and be physically able to do field work
- Willing to work outside of typical business hours when required to do so including nights, weekends and holidays and periodically be available by cell phone and able to work when directed to be "on-call" by his/her supervisor
