Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Production Supervisor, responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, leading production employees, and ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery requirements are achieved. This position provides hands-on leadership, coordinates workflow and resources, and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.
Duties
- Manage employee schedules, attendance, timekeeping records, performance evaluations, training, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Determine stock and supply requirements based on production schedules and requisition materials from storage as needed.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, work instructions, and job orders; communicate requirements and assign work responsibilities to employees.
- Plan the flow of materials through the department and optimize equipment and machine layouts to support production requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer delivery deadlines are met.
- Inspect and measure parts and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Direct employees in adjusting machinery and equipment to correct product defects and maintain quality standards.
- Establish and adjust work procedures and staffing assignments to meet production schedules and operational goals.
- Develop, recommend, and implement improvements to production methods, equipment performance, efficiency, and product quality.
- Identify opportunities to safety improve working conditions, equipment utilization, and overall departmental productivity.
- Analyze operational issues and implement corrective actions; assist employees in resolving work-related problems.
- Maintain accurate production, labor, and attendance records.
- Support capital equipment planning and provide recommendations for equipment and process improvements that enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve cycle times.
- Estimate material requirements, submit requisitions, and verify materials received.
- Directly supervise approximately 10 to 25 production employees.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Three to five years of manufacturing, production, or supervisory experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, blueprints, and government regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information to employees and management.
- Ability to identify problems, gather and analyze data, draw conclusions, and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in preparing reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
