The Driscoll Firm, a well-established and rapidly growing national law firm, is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney to manage and coordinate Environmental dockets. The firm presently represents over thirty municipalities in ongoing PFAS and PCB contamination litigation. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the firm’s owner and senior attorneys while playing a key role in overseeing complex litigation.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in Environmental Law —such as environmental contamination—and possess exceptional organizational and case management skills.
This is an in-office position based in Raleigh, NC; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; or Atlanta, GA.
Key Responsibilities
- Docket Oversight: Monitor the progress of active environmental dockets from inception to resolution, ensuring cases advance efficiently through each stage of litigation.
- Reporting: Provide detailed case status updates and reports directly to the firm’s owner and senior attorneys.
- Staffing & Coordination: Assess staffing needs across dockets, collaborate with paralegals and supervisors, and reassign personnel as necessary to meet litigation demands.
- Process Management: Develop and implement case management procedures, including systems for medical record retrieval, vendor coordination (couriers, mail services), and cross-departmental collaboration (IT, Accounting).
- Client Communication: Serve as a resource for client inquiries, providing updates and handling complex questions that require attorney input.
- Team Leadership: Act as the liaison between management and legal staff, ensuring teams are informed, trained, and equipped to manage their caseloads effectively.
- Case Management Software: Ensure accurate and timely data entry regarding case stages, staffing assignments, and client communications.
- Compliance: Run regular reports to confirm Statutes of Limitations are properly tracked, updated, and protected well before deadlines.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar license in your state of residence (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental litigation, including environmental contamination, or other complex litigation.
- Demonstrated experience managing high-volume dockets.
- Strong organizational, reporting, and data management skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
