The Dream Center is a 501(c)(3) faith-based nonprofit organization in Easley, South Carolina, dedicated to providing hope, restoration, and a pathway to self-sufficiency through programs built on accountability, grace, and life transformation, we work to offer a hand up—not a handout. Our residential program, Opportunity Village, supports women and children on their journey toward spiritual, emotional, and physical health.
We are excited to launch South Carolina’s first Whole Health Kitchen, an initiative focused on holistic wellness. Through nutritious meals, hands-on cooking classes, and accessible nutrition education, we are expanding our mission to cultivate healthy lives from the inside out—for both our residents and the community.
Position Summary
The Culinary Specialist will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Whole Health Kitchen. This individual will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals for residents of Opportunity Village and partnering with the Director to develop weekly menus, implement the Food is Medicine framework, and support wellness programming.
We are seeking someone who brings culinary skill, creativity, and passion—paired with a deep love for Jesus and a heart for serving women and children. The ideal candidate is committed to fostering spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being in every aspect of the work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare healthy, high-quality meals for Opportunity Village residents.
- Collaborate with the Director on menu planning that aligns with Food is Medicine principles.
- Assist with cooking classes, demonstrations, and wellness programming.
- Support nutrition education efforts for residents and community participants.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
- Model Christ-like character, compassion, and service in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Experience in culinary arts, food service, or related fields.
- Passion for healthy cooking and nutrition-focused meal planning.
- Alignment with the mission, values, and faith-based culture of The Dream Center.
- Heart for serving women and children from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and residents.
