Purpose of Job:
The Events Consultant is responsible for successfully executing all events of The dReam Center Church of Atlanta (TdRC). Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, this individual will be responsible for providing hands-on and strategic oversight to all on-site and off-site events, both churchwide and ministry specific according to the overall vision of TdRC. This position requires a high level of passion, energy, creativity, and proven effectiveness.
Expectations:
- Partners closely with ministry leaders to plan, develop and execute all events.
- Manage consultants and vendors prior to and during all events to ensure flawless and efficient execution.
- Partner with marketing team to develop content for event correspondence, collateral materials, social media and web.
- Manages internal and external event volunteers before and on the day of each event, to include applicable training.
- Responsible for weekly sanctuary staging and set design for all productions.
- Responsible for planning and executing calendar year holiday decor.
- Provide project management to small events of 100 attendees or less.
- Submit event plans and associated funds requests for all events according to established timelines for approval.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficiency in organizational skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to recruit, develop and assign volunteers to meaningful roles within the team.
- Ability to work independently as well as with cross functional teams.
- Ability to clearly outline processes and procedures and give directives with the ability to use sound judgment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proven leadership skills and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of three years of related experience in planning events.
- Minimum of two years of experience leading in a church and working with multiple teams of adult volunteers.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 required.
- Strong organizational and planning skills required.
- Experience working in a church of 1,500 or more in weekly attendance is preferred.
