What you will do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Inspect all mechanical rooms and report results into log check
- Respond to tenants requests for maintenance services, including replacing air filters, repairing locks and troubleshooting smoke detectors
- General plumbing repairs such as toilets, faucets, and minor leaks
- Test performance of in-unit appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves and ovens
- Repair and replace general hardware such as doors, doorknobs, locks, and broken tiles
- Cosmetic updates to apartments, entrances, and common areas such as painting, plaster, sanding, and wallpaper installation
- Maintenance and upkeep of cooling towers and boilers, as well as assisting in repairs of heating and HVAC systems
- Report daily to the Resident Manager and update on repairs thru email correspondence
- Assist in snow removal on sidewalks and driveways
What you should have:
- 3 years' experience working in residential rental buildings
- FACP certificate, a plus
- Basic carpentry and electrical skills
- Good communication and time management skills
- Standpipe sprinkler certificates
- Problem solver with attention to detail
- Friendly, positive team player
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to follow instructions

Schedule:
Wednesday - Friday, 12:00pm - 8:30pm. Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am - 6:30pm (off days Monday and Tuesday)
Compensation:
$32.60/hour
This position is governed by the prevailing wage schedule for building service employees published by the Office of The Comptroller, City of New York. As such, your rate of pay will change based on that schedule. Paid time off and other terms of your employment will be covered by the prevailing wage schedule. In addition to the prevailing wage schedule, you will receive 32 hours of unpaid safe and sick leave available immediately upon your date of hire and refreshed at the start of each calendar year. Additional information will be provided to you if you begin employment.
