The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is a senior executive responsible for defining, shaping, and advancing the organization’s long-term strategic direction, growth initiatives, and external positioning.
This role ensures that The Donovan’s Venom achieves sustainable impact by aligning strategy with mission, market opportunities, partnerships, and data-driven insights. The CSO leads enterprise-level strategic planning, identifies growth opportunities, and ensures the organization is positioned to expand access to fine arts and music education at scale.
The CSO operates at the intersection of strategy, growth, partnerships, and impact, working closely with the Executive Director and executive leadership team to drive organizational success.

- Market Intelligence, Research & Strategic Insights
- Impact Measurement & Program Evaluation
- Strategic Alignment & Cross-Functional Integration
- Executive Leadership & Advisory Role
- Estimated Commitment 10–20 hours per week
- Availability Flexible (weekdays, evenings, weekends as needed)
- Participation in executive leadership and strategic planning sessions required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, Public Administration, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5 years of experience in strategy, consulting, business development, or leadership roles
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, market analysis, and organizational growth
- Strong understanding of nonprofit strategy, partnerships, and impact measurement
- Experience in nonprofit, education, or mission-driven organizations
- Background in consulting, strategy, or business development
- Experience leading cross-functional or enterprise-level initiatives
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and strategic reporting
