What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Engineer position at The Dolphin Group?
We are seeking a motivated Test Engineer with a strong background in system-level testing to support our medical device development team. This role focuses on understanding interactions between hardware and software components within complex systems and executing comprehensive testing activities in a regulated environment.
The selected candidate will work primarily in a laboratory setting alongside engineers and technicians, contributing to system validation and product quality while supporting cross-functional collaboration. This is currently scheduled as a six month contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform system integration testing, including:
- Manual testing
- Automated testing
- Stress testing
- Alpha and beta testing
- Execute system verification tests and assist with test protocol development as needed
- Conduct project-based testing, including:
- Executing moderately complex test cases
- Interpreting results and data
- Creating reports and presenting findings to the team
- Investigate and triage issues, supporting root cause analysis and resolution
- Set up and maintain test systems involving both hardware and software (including programs on iPads)
- Follow established procedures, standards, and laboratory practices
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support testing objectives
Required Qualifications
- Experience in test engineering, particularly at a system level
- Hands-on experience with test integration and verification
- Familiarity with lab environments and basic laboratory techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., medical devices, healthcare, life sciences)
- Prior experience in the medical device industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related discipline)
- Advanced-level technicians with relevant experience will also be considered
Work Environment
- Primarily lab-based role within the Systems Lab
- Collaborative setting with engineers and technicians
- Dedicated workspace provided within the lab to support onboarding and ongoing project work
Benefits
- Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment. Thirty (30) hours worked per week must be averaged in order to maintain coverage. 401k enrollment is available per the Secure Act guidelines.
