The Nutrition Services Supervisor oversees daily kitchen operations at a large school site, ensuring high standards in food quality, safety, and presentation. This role includes supervising kitchen staff, managing food preparation and service, maintaining sanitation standards, and coordinating food orders and inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train Nutrition Services Assistants and Helpers.
- Coordinate preparation and service of nutritious meals for students and staff.
- Ensure food quality, portion control, and compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Order, receive, and inspect food and supply deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records, handle cash deposits, and prepare related reports.
Qualifications:
- Education/Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts, Dietetics, or related field and 2 years of supervisory experience in food service; or
- High school diploma/GED and 4 years of supervisory experience in school, restaurant, or institutional food service.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, nutrition basics, and large-scale meal preparation.
- Ability to lead teams, multitask under time constraints, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Must obtain MN Department of Health Food Manager Certification within 60 days of hire.
Benefits: Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment.
