Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, people-focused HR Coordinator (Contract) to provide administrative and operational HR support during a maternity leave. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, thrives in process-driven work, and brings a warm, approachable presence when interacting with employees.The role will focus heavily on execution, follow-through, and accuracy while supporting essential HR processes including terminations, leave administration, and new hire check-ins.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Compliance
- Own and execute the full termination process, ensuring all checklist steps are completed accurately and on time (approximately 20-step process; all details must be verified and documented).
- Manage and track Minnesota Paid Family Leave, including:
- Monitoring claims and updates
- Following established protocols
- Communicating timely updates and required actions to employees
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation with a high level of attention to detail.
Employee Support & Experience
- Conduct new hire check-ins, serving as a friendly, welcoming point of contact.
- Provide clear, compassionate communication while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Support employees with questions by understanding HR processes and knowing when to ask follow-up questions or escalate appropriately.
Operational Support
- Perform administrative HR tasks that require both precision and action orientation.
- Use HR systems and Microsoft tools to track, document, and communicate HR activities.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow defined processes and checklists.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn ADP.
- Comfortable handling administrative HR tasks with accuracy and discretion.
- Strong interpersonal skills; warm, kind, and approachable when working with employees.
- Ability to ask questions, seek clarification, and advocate for the information or support needed to complete tasks correctly.
Benefits: Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment. Thirty (30) hours worked per week must be averaged in order to maintain coverage. 401k enrollment is available per the Secure Act guidelines. Earned Sick and Safe time is accrued and can be used per the State of MN guidelines.
