Receiving Clerk - Dollywood's HeartSong Lodge & Resort - Full Time Year Round

This position is to provide positive support for our Culinary and Food and Beverage team by managing the unloading/loading of shipments to include inspecting products and recording receipts in a professional and competent manner using established policies, procedures and expectations.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

• Collaborates with Inventory Control staff to list expected deliveries
• Receives daily food, alcoholic beverage, and supply item shipments and sign receipts
• Unloads packages from incoming trucks; including inspecting contents to ensure they are not damaged and arrived with in expiration date
• Verifies packages according to order and invoices for quantity, quality and price
• Checks in orders including properly counting, labeling, and storing food and non-food inventories.
• Fills and delivers departmental requisitions to specified locations. Confirming with area leader that delivered items align with requisition
• Maintains cleanliness in food storage areas and loading dock area
• Practices FIFO methods daily
• Keeps area free of slip and fall hazards as well as tripping hazards
• Receives departmental supplies and distribute them to proper storage areas
• Receives guest packages and communicate to Front Desk Hosts
• Keeps an accurate working logbook to track deliveries
• Inspects coolers and storeroom’s locking systems for safety and security
• Inspects cooler and freezer temperatures, reporting any issues to Maintenance and moving product as necessary
• Monitors and reports loss prevention
• Reviews expiration dates of products on hand. Communicate any concerns to purchasing leadership
• Utilizes Technology/ Tablet to accept all deliveries
• Must be able and available to work various shifts, including nights, holidays and weekends to accommodate delivery schedules, as well as extended late-night hours during period end inventory
• Must comply with all Health Department, ServSafe, and Company regulations pertaining to safe food handling practices
• Monitors and enforces receiving standards including accepting or rejecting according to Dollywood Company and safe food handling practices

Education and Experience Required

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• This position requires a minimum of one year’s experience as receiving clerk or similar position
• Working knowledge or computer programs for entering data
• Basic math and recording abilities
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
• Must be able to obtain Food handler certification
• Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy. Must have valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving record
• Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of background screening which includes criminal history and motor vehicle record check
• Must be comfortable working in coolers and freezers

Physical Requirements | Environmental Conditions  

• Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs (if JD lists another weigh such as 25, 75, 100 etc. update the 50 above to reflect what is reflected) utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting 
• Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours 
• Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions 
• Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat 
• Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved communication methods
• Able to meet the physical demands of the job
• Physical requirements necessary for stooping, lifting, bending, pushing and pulling in order to deliver and put daily stock away in storage, on shelving and in refrigerated spaces
• Sweeping and mopping of coolers, freezers, and dry storage areas
