Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Dog Groomer role based in Wexford, PA. The Dog Groomer will provide professional grooming services, including bathing, brushing, clipping, trimming, nail care, and ear cleaning, while ensuring each dog’s comfort and safety. Responsibilities include assessing each dog’s coat and skin condition, following grooming instructions from pet parents, and maintaining a clean, organized grooming area and equipment. The Dog Groomer will interact directly with customers to discuss grooming preferences, provide updates, and offer basic pet care advice. The role also involves monitoring dogs for signs of stress or health concerns and collaborating with team members to support overall daycare and boarding operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong pet grooming skills, including bathing, brushing, clipping, and breed-specific styling.
- Experience in general pet care, with the ability to handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments safely and compassionately.
- Customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with pet parents and team members, explaining grooming options and outcomes clearly.
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe grooming environment, including sanitizing tools and workspaces and following safety protocols.
- Previous professional grooming experience or certification from a recognized grooming program preferred.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift or handle dogs as needed, with appropriate safety techniques.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working part time with a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
