PRIMARY FUNCTION: Breakfast Server
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
REPORTS TO: Food & Beverage Manager
SUMMARY:
The Breakfast Server collaborates with the service and culinary teams to ensure a warm, polished, and memorable breakfast experience for all guests dining in our restaurant. The primary focus of this role is providing gracious, timely, and knowledgeable food and beverage service with a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Perform assigned opening and breakfast prep work.
- Provide immediate, gracious attention to all guests upon seating.
- Fill water glasses and offer coffee, tea, juice, andadditionalbeverageservice promptly.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all breakfast menu items, including ingredients, preparation, garnishes, dietary accommodations, and daily offerings.
- Suggest daily specials, seasonal offerings, and thoughtful enhancements to the guest experience.
- Record guest orders accurately and place orders through thePoint-of-Salesystem to the Kitchen, notifying theCulinaryteam of any allergies, dietary restrictions, or special preparation requests.
- Efficiently serve food and beverages, adhering to The Dewberry’s upscale service standards and food handling procedures.
- Ensure guest satisfaction upon receipt of food and replenish coffee, beverages, condiments, and all necessary items throughout service.
- Utilize thoughtful suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience and support revenue.
- Present guests withan accuratebill and process payment with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain the dining room areas and service stations in a clean, organized, and sanitary manner.
- Help clear, clean, and reset vacated tables promptly to support a seamless breakfast service.
- Provide thoughtful solutions to guest concerns, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Attend pre-service meetings and remain informed of dailyhotel,restaurant, and menu updates.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GEDrequired.
- Minimum of one year of high-volume, upscale restaurant or luxury hotel breakfast service experience preferred.
- Food Safety Certification preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of state and federal safety standards related to food service.
- Ability to multi-task and complete assigned tasks to ensure a smooth andtimelymorning service.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a warm, professional presence.
- Dependable work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Mustbe punctual and reliable.
- Ability to workearlymornings, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to balance, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and reach.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment.
