Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Baton Rouge, LA, for a City Operations Liaison. The City Operations Liaison is a role responsible for communicating across multiple departments and positions and pulling accurate, timely information from a client. This client's staff have been doing good work, but they are busy and do not always have the time, context, or habit of translating that work into usable updates. This role exists to bridge that gap.
Success in this position depends on presence, judgment and relationship-building. The Liaison earns access by showing up, following through, and helping people maintain a good image.
Core Responsibilities
Information Intake & Coordination
• Maintain a consistent on-site presence across certain departments.
• Proactively attend meetings and working sessions to stay ahead of issues.
• Pull relevant information from department leadership and staff who do not report to you.
• Follow up persistently to close gaps and clarify facts.
Council Support & Issue Tracking
• Track City Council requests and questions.
• “Bird-dog” issues inside the building to ensure they are addressed.
• Provide city council members with timely updates and context.
• Run interference on council matters to prevent unnecessary escalation.
Issue Anticipation & De-Escalation
• Identify potential problems early.
• Elevate issues at the right time with clear context.
• Help de-escalate tension by clarifying facts and managing expectations.
Communications Enablement
• Provide vetted, accurate inputs to communications staff.
• Ensure external communications are based on real information, not assumptions.
• Support internal briefings and background materials as needed.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Salary Range:
$65,000–$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and judgment. While the full range reflects flexibility based on candidate strength, this role is intended for someone with the maturity, confidence, and discretion to operate effectively with senior staff and elected officials. Candidates who can demonstrate sound judgment, the ability to build trust, and the capacity to step into complex situations with minimal supervision will be competitive toward the upper end of the range.
