Duties
- Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals.
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining an organized work area, including cleaning counters, sinks, and storage spaces.
- Follow food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to ensure hygiene and prevent cross-contamination.
- Help with meal assembly and plating under supervision, ensuring presentation meets quality standards.
- Manage waste disposal efficiently and keep dishwashing stations stocked with necessary supplies.
- Collaborate with dietary aides and culinary staff to support menu preparation and catering needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with food handling, safety procedures, and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Basic cooking skills including knife handling, meal preparation, and food industry knowledge.
- Experience in restaurant or catering environments is advantageous.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
