We are currently seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, compassionate individual to fill a full time Intake Service Coordinator position in Clay and Ray counties. Candidates must be able to travel to locations within the assigned counties and must be available to work Monday through Friday during typical business hours.
Missouri First Steps is Missouri’s Early Intervention system (Part C of IDEA) for infants and toddlers, birth to age 3, who have delayed development or diagnosed conditions that are associated with developmental disabilities. The goal of Missouri First Steps is to make sure that families have the necessary supports, services, and resources that they need to raise healthy, happy, and successful children.
Under a contract with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), The Daulton Group, Inc. employs service coordinators in the Northwest Region of the state who are responsible for conducting all activities related to intake, eligibility determination, Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings, Early Intervention Teaming (EIT) meetings, and transition meetings. Service coordinators must meet all state and federal timeline and process requirements.
Intake Coordinators are responsible for the intake and eligibility process, as well as scheduling and facilitating the initial IFSP meetings (for eligible children) for all referred children in their designated geographic area of the region. Intake Coordinators must complete all required activities within the 45-day federal timeline for all children on their caseload.
Intake Service Coordinators keep families in the forefront of all of their job activities and responsibilities, including, but not limited to: supporting families through the intake and eligibility process by ensuring their understanding of the Missouri First Steps program's philosophy and processes, ensuring families are fully informed of their rights and understand the eligibility criteria and determination process, locating and understanding community resources, coordinating early intervention evaluations/assessments and services, and building each family's capacity to best help and teach their child.
To be considered for this position, eligible candidates are required to have at least one year of documented experience working with families AND a bachelor's or master's degree in one of the following:
● Early Childhood Special Education
● Early Childhood
● Elementary Education
● Nursing
● Special Education
● Child/Human Development
● Social Work
● Psychology
● Sociology
● Counseling
● Education Administration
● Family Science/Studies
OR must have any other bachelor's degree or higher AND at least 3 years of documented experience working with families.
Candidates who do not have at least a bachelor's degree and experience working with families cannot be considered for this position.
Additional requirements:
- Reliable personal transportation (including valid driver's license and current auto insurance)
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities at once
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and secure home internet connection
- Ability to pass multiple background screenings
Preference will be given to individuals who have experience with the following:
- working in a home visiting model
- working with the families of young children with disabilities
- working from a home office
- facilitating small group meetings
- Google Drive (including Google sheets, docs, calendar, and email)
Service Coordinators employed with The Daulton Group, Inc. work from home offices with frequent travel throughout the assigned counties.
