What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent position at The Crom Corporation?
Job Purpose:
The function of the Superintendent is to plan, execute, and direct projects in the field according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes taking instruction from Project Managers and coordinating field personnel in order to successfully complete projects that involve the inspection, coating, cleaning, repair, and modification of prestressed composite tanks as well as other concrete structures.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage, train, and communicate with field personnel the requirements of the project and develop a plan to complete the work.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts between the existing condition and the project documents and communicate these issues with the project manager.
- Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones in the field.
- Responsible for completing and submitting field paperwork, within the required one-week time frame, using a computer/tablet.
- Repair, cleaning, inspection, and coating of prestressed composite tanks as well as other concrete structures including the development of a written report to communicate these findings to the owner and others involved.
- Draw conclusions from the information gathered and develop recommendations for repair will be required.
- Supervises and directs work of employees on job site (2 or more employees).
- Influences disciplinary actions of field employees.
- Recommends employees for job assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of field work with CCR, 7 years of field work with CROM, or of construction experience in the water/wastewater, infrastructure repair, and/or coatings industry.
- Valid Driver’s License, with a clean driving record and Insurance.
- Pass a background check, drug screening and Respiratory and Fit Test.
- Successful completion of all Superintendent required Safety Training.
- Successful completion of Levels 1-4 required testing of the CCR Field Advancement Program.
- Must be able to work at different heights.
- Must be team player and able to work well with a diverse group of personnel.
Other requirements:
- Strong understanding of typical construction materials and methods.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer, tablet and smart phone usage.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Working Conditions:
The position requires the individual to be in the office as well as in the field. Travel is required to go to the job sites and overnight stays away from home will be necessary. While on site, the ability to move around a construction site is needed which may require climbing and working off the ground. Typical construction site conditions are expected to include loud noises as well as dust and the odors of construction materials being utilized.
