Collector - full-Time, on-site (Oak Harbor, OH):

About The Job -

Responsible for managing delinquent and charged-off loan accounts by conducting collections activities, recommending solutions to restore accounts to current status, and handling repossessions, bankruptcies, insurance claims, estate claims, and legal recovery actions. Ensures compliance with investor, regulatory, and bank policies while administering loan extensions, charge-offs, collateral loss claims, and recovery efforts to minimize financial risk and maximize account resolution.

Hours -

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Essential Job Duties –

• Recommend remedies to bring account to current status.
• Handle collection calls and collection customers using established procedures. This includes following Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines for all stages of delinquent accounts including reporting.
• Repossess and dispose of collateral following bank procedures.
• Process loan extension agreements.
• Process total loss insurance claims for title collateral thru communication with Insurance company and customer.
• Process accident and health insurance claim forms and death claims.
• File Estate Claims with Attorney by researching at County Probate Court and monitoring process.
• File “Small Claim” complaints through the bank’s legal counsel.
• Complete charge-off accounts entries as approved during Loan Delinquency Meeting each month.
• Organize charge-off files for further collection recovery efforts (loans and closed Deposit accounts).
• Handle all incoming bankruptcy notices and follow procedures involved with this process.
• Monitor Monthly Cash Item Log Reports to determine collectability of outstanding cash items.
• Complies with and maintains working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Requirements –

• A high school diploma
• No bank experience required, but preferred
• Must have access to transportation and possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to sit for a long period of time and work at a personal computer
• Position may require occasional work outdoors
