Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing attentive and friendly service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Manage guest relations by addressing questions, special requests, or concerns promptly and professionally
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering and cash handling responsibilities
- Maintain sanitation standards by adhering to food safety regulations, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation protocols
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and supporting kitchen staff during busy periods
- Use reservation management platforms like OpenTable to coordinate seating arrangements and optimize guest flow
- Support guest services by providing information about menu items, wine pairings, or restaurant amenities
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and sales tracking
- Strong culinary knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to enhance guest satisfaction
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining a positive attitude
- Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation platforms for managing bookings seamlessly
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent communication skills to engage guests warmly and build lasting relationships
- Basic math skills for accurate bill calculation, cash handling, and transaction processing
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food industry roles such as bussing or serving is highly desirable
