Position Summary

We are seeking an Associate Senior Attorney to join our litigation team. This is an entry-level position well suited for a newly admitted attorney or an attorney with up to two years of experience who is eager to develop a sophisticated family law and estate litigation practice. The successful candidate will receive direct mentorship from senior attorneys and will have early exposure to substantive case work, court appearances, and client contact. This position is remote and flexible within Washington State, with the expectation that the attorney will appear in person for court hearings and client meetings as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, parenting plans, and other litigation documents in family law and estate matters.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on issues of Washington family law, probate, trust administration, and related statutory and case authority.
  • Assist with discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences under the supervision of senior attorneys.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and other parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Manage assigned case files, deadlines, and calendaring obligations with attention to detail and ethical compliance.
  • Participate in case strategy sessions and contribute to case theory development.
  • Comply with all Washington Rules of Professional Conduct, firm policies, and supervisory directives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Washington State Bar Association, active and in good standing (or eligible for admission prior to start date).
  • Min 3 years of legal practice experience; experience in family law, estate planning, or civil litigation preferred but not required.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to ethical practice.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools (Westlaw, Casemaker, or equivalent) and standard office technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clerkship, internship, or clinical experience in family law or estate litigation.
  • Familiarity with Washington Superior Court procedures and local rules.
  • Experience with case management software and electronic filing systems.
  • Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in family law and estate litigation.
