Overview
Join our construction team as a Block Mason. As a Block Mason, you'll work on residential new builds and renovations for crawls, additions and Onmi Block structures.
Responsibilities
- Construct and repair walls, foundations, and other structures using concrete blocks, bricks, stone, and similar materials with precision and attention to detail
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution
- Mix and apply mortar or other bonding agents effectively to secure blocks and stones in place
- Install rebar reinforcement within masonry units for added structural integrity during construction or restoration projects
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and set masonry materials
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, electricians, plumbers and other trades to coordinate project phases seamlessly
Experience
- Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on masonry work
- Skilled in concrete forming, rebar installation, tile laying, stucco application, and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret schematics for precise construction work
- Knowledge of renovation techniques including restoration of historic structures or damaged masonry
- Familiarity with various hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers; as well as power tools like saws and drills
- Experience working with metal stud framing, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, caulking, roofing, plastering or welding is a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of safety protocols on construction sites to ensure a secure working environment
