Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality healthcare services in a correctional facility in Jarratt, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to deliver patient-centered care in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to inmates under the supervision of RNs and physicians.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and document vital signs, patient conditions, and treatment responses.
- Assist with medical assessments, wound care, and chronic disease management.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Follow infection control procedures, safety guidelines, and correctional facility protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and correctional staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive healthcare.
Qualifications
- Active Virginia LPN license or valid multistate license with authorization to practice in Virginia.
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- Previous experience in corrections, long-term care, hospitals, or similar healthcare settings preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle medical emergencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet facility-specific background screening and onboarding requirements.
