General Job Description
A local law firm is looking for a highly organized and experienced bookkeeper to help manage financial accounting, bookkeeping, and reporting.
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting day-to-day financial operations across multiple business entities. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), keen attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively. A Monday–Friday work schedule is required.
Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor’s preferred), or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of related bookkeeping/accounting experience and 1 year in QuickBooks
- Minimum 1 year of payroll experience
- Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations.
- Experience with Trust Accounting, Inter-company accounting, real estate & property management accounting.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to positively impact the organization.
- Strong commitment to supporting and safeguarding the principles of fiscal responsibility, accountability, and integrity.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, etc.) and familiarity with other related software programs.
- Ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines, maintaining a high degree of accuracy, and paying attention to detail.
- Ability to operate office equipment as required on assignment; i.e., fax machine, copier, computer, etc.
- Ability to compile information, prepare reports, and maintain confidentiality in performing assigned tasks.
- Ability to lift boxes and packages of varying weights and move them to other locations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain all aspects of business bookkeeping using GAAP, including processing daily financial transactions.
- Manage Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable
- Manage Payroll: including processing payroll, onboarding new employees through payroll/e-verify, benefits management, and PTO management.
- Create financial statements and budgeting (income statement, balance sheet) and generate financial reports and track budgets from QuickBooks.
- Ensures compliance with and prepares reports according to applicable licensure regulations.
- Prepare and/or review all expense reports for accuracy and accountability- prepare in coordination with the CPA, all End of Year Tax Reporting
- Maintain accurate and orderly financial document retention files and archives
- Perform other related duties as may be requested by the supervisor

Compensation:
Pay is dependent on experience, but we offer competitive rates for the right candidate.
