Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team! Duties
- Manage and record all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, for various accounts in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify the integrity of financial statements
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax compliance activities
- Generate detailed financial reports and assist in budgeting processes to support organizational planning
- Maintain meticulous records of all bookkeeping activities, including general ledger accounting and double-entry bookkeeping practices
- Support governmental accounting requirements and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role, preferably within corporate or non-profit sectors
- Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or comparable tools
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and experience with financial concepts like account reconciliation, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and tax regulations is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting accurately
- Excellent understanding of debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting principles
- Ability to handle high-volume data entry using 10 key typing skills efficiently
- Prior experience in payroll processing and budgeting is desirable
