The Entry-Level Systems Engineer will support engineering teams in the technical design, documentation and delivery of both IT and Security System projects. The role will assist with system drawings, equipment configuration, field commissioning and technical support during and after installation.
Essential Functions
Create system designs, infrastructure layouts, and documentation of device configurations for IT and Security Systems.
Provide technical presentations and demonstrations to prospective clients to showcase solutions.
Support the configuration and deployment of IT infrastructure, Access Control Systems, and Video Surveillance Systems.
Assist in UCaaS and CCaaS deployments, including user provisioning, call flow setup, and troubleshooting.
Participate in field activities for device commissioning, system verification, and testing.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers to resolve issues with installed systems.
Conduct remote and on-site diagnostics to identify and rectify system faults.
Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely and effective resolution of system issues.
Configure and support SIP carrier services, including number porting, call path design, and E911 address registration.
Assist Project Managers by delivering technical updates, configuration sheets, and field support during installations.
Support end-user training sessions and create user documentation for customer onboarding.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
Current and valid US driver’s license
0–2 years of hands-on experience with physical security systems, network infrastructure, VOIP/UCaaS or IT support (internships or academic projects acceptable)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of network infrastructure (LAN switches, WiFi design, VLANs, firewall configuration).
Understanding of server, storage and networking architectures
Exposure to UCaaS and CCaaS platforms (such as Intermedia, Zoom, RingCentral, or equivalent).
Ability to read and create basic network topology diagrams and device layouts.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic documentation tools.
Strong problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently under supervision and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with customers and internal teams.
[Preferred] Exposure to design tools such as CAD, BlueBeam, Visio or Lucidchart.
[Preferred] Familiarity with security and IT systems including Avigilon, Genetec, Lenel, Cisco, Extreme Networks or similar
Physical Demands
Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping, using hands and reaching. Spends approximately 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Frequent lifting required of items 25-50 pounds.
Work Environment
May be exposed to variable weather conditions. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker may be subject to frequent heavy lifting.
