Position: Housing and Vocational Specialist
Program: REACH (Re-Entry Assisted Community Housing)
Location: Hartford
Salary: $23.00/hour
Schedule: Full time, 40 hours, 1st shift, Monday-Friday
Program Summary:
Providing short-term supportive housing and case management services for adults re-entering the community after incarceration to assist them in obtaining employment, identifying long-term housing, and maintaining a substance and crime free lifestyle.
Position Summary:
Work with case management staff to provide REACH clients with the necessary skills, including resources, needed to find and maintain employment while working towards their successful discharge from the REACH program. Ensure that REACH maintains the contractually necessary apartments, while working with staff and landlords to maintain these apartments in satisfactory condition.
Working within Adult Services, the Housing and Vocational Specialist works with Community Justice program staff to help to rehabilitate, educate, and successfully guide clients from incarceration back into the community.
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree
- 2 years of related experience in the direct service and case management field
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
Orientation:
If selected for employment with The Connection, newly hired employees will be required to attend a two (2) day mandatory New Hire Orientation at our Roscommon office located in Middletown.
