Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined SMT / Post SMT Process Technician to support our electronics manufacturing operation. This role will work with Yamaha SMT Pick & Place equipment, ERSA Selective Solder systems, PVA Conformal Coating and Potting Dispense equipment, and Bit Router depaneling machines.
Previous SMT or electronics manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train candidates who possess strong troubleshooting abilities, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn advanced manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Support setup, operation, and troubleshooting of Yamaha SMT Pick & Place equipment.
- Assist with machine changeovers, feeder setups, and production support.
- Operate and maintain ERSA Selective Solder equipment.
- Support PVA conformal coating and potting dispense processes.
- Operate Bit Router depaneling equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot machine, process, and quality issues.
- Work with Engineering and Production teams to improve efficiency and yields.
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) builds and process validation.
- Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain production and maintenance records.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- Experience in SMT, electronics manufacturing, assembly, automation, maintenance, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with Yamaha SMT equipment, selective soldering, conformal coating, routing, or automated production equipment.
- Understanding of IPC standards and electronics assembly processes.
Additional Skills Considered a Major Plus
- HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Industrial electrical experience.
- PLC troubleshooting and controls knowledge.
- Mechanical maintenance experience.
- Automation or robotics experience.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
