A Social Service Director cares deeply about the psychological, social, and spiritual needs of residents. They are an advocate, a counselor, a friend, and a liaison between families, their loved ones, and clinical teams.

Responsibilities and Purpose
- Identify each resident’s social, emotional and psychological needs.
- Develop and carry out a plan to develop the residents’ full potential during their stay.
- Planning for the resident’s discharge or transition to another care environment.
Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or in human services (including sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, gerontology, psychology, etc).
- Certificate for Oklahoma-approved Social Services training program.
- 1 years of supervised social work experience in a healthcare setting working directly with individuals.
- 1 years or work in a skilled nursing facility, hospice, or long-term acute care.
- Knowledge of federal and state guidelines.
