JOB OVERVIEW:
This orientation aims to familiarize the participant with the Host Organization's mission, brand tenants, clientele and guests, market area, significant historical identify, system networks, and essential rules and regulations. Both markets (Palm Beach and East Hampton) attract a loyal, high-value guest that requires an intense, yet refined level of service and familiarity. Our goal is to ensure the participant's seamless integration into this environment by providing a thorough understanding of the area, location, history, as well as the pertinent policies and procedures of the department and company and understanding and adherence to all Forbes standards.

Palm Beach and the Hamptons is a location that is synonymous with luxury and affluence. The Colony and Hedges Inn has maintained a successful presence for generations in these two locations. The participant will gain a clear overview of the organization's operations in these markets and the loyal clientele that frequent our resorts. The participant will learn the scope of the organization's activities, the history, mission and tenants as well as the significance of the division and departments they are training in. The participant will take part in orientation with the property and be introduced to supervisors and mentors they will interact with throughout their program. Initial training offered to all new members will be scheduled and required documentation will be completed. All new-hire training will be completed in the first 30 days, to include mandatory HR/FB required certifications and training. In addition, all participants will be introduced to Forbes standards and be expected to maintain these in all interactions.
Training/Internship Placement Plan (T/IPP)
The supervisor will provide an orientation checklist, and a new comers manual to help the participants understand the Host Organization’s culture. Activities such as leader's presentations explaining organizational culture, quizzes, ice breakers activities will take place. The participant will get verbal coaching, personal counseling, shadowing, and actual on the job training in order to feel confident and proficient in the tasks assigned. In addition, there may be computer classes and scenarios to introduce the participant to Forbes training. Participants will have coaching calendars to help them organize their training and focus on the standards of each area.
During this time period, the participant will be expected to learn and grasp several operating systems in order to be successful in their role. Participant will also shadow in other departments in order to understand the intradepartmental relationships.
