- Secure and manage a diverse network of externship sites for Medical Assistant students, ensuring alignment with program goals and industry standards
- Achieve and maintain a minimum of 40% extern-to-hire conversion rate across assigned sites, driving measurable outcomes for student success
- Conduct regular site visits to evaluate student performance, address any concerns, and strengthen relationships with externship partners
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation requirements, including adherence to TWC regulations
- Collaborate with Career Services and Placement teams to facilitate the seamless transition of externs into full-time employment opportunities
- Provide guidance to students on attendance, professionalism, and performance expectations to maximize their externship experience
- Conduct externship orientations and assist students with resume writing, interview preparation, and career readiness
- Maintain meticulous documentation, including timecards, evaluations, and affiliation agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Track student progress throughout the externship, ensuring timely completion of final evaluations and exit interviews
- Engage in outreach and networking activities to promote the program within the medical community, enhancing its visibility and reputation
- Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in the healthcare field, demonstrating a strong foundation in medical practices
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is required to ensure expertise in the field
- CPR certification is preferred, reflecting a commitment to patient safety and emergency preparedness
- No prior teaching experience is required, making this role accessible to professionals with a passion for education and mentorship
- Phlebotomy Certification is required, showcasing technical proficiency in essential medical procedures
