Duties
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide detailed descriptions of dishes and drinks to enhance the dining experience.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems.
- Upsell menu items and specials to maximize sales while providing personalized recommendations based on guest preferences
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction
- Assist with food handling, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to uphold sanitation standards
- Support host/hostess duties when needed by managing reservations through OpenTable or similar systems and seating guests efficiently
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Square POS and cashiering procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing tabs efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
