Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Manager Needed ASAP

Are you seeking to advance your career as a VDC Manager?

A client is looking for someone to lead the Engineering/BIM team to produce HVAC/shop drawings, fabrication docs, permits, and BIM outputs from engineering data. The VDC Manager will coordinate with trades, Project Managers, field personnel, and vendors to ensure accurate, code-compliant drawings. The role demands problem solving, strong communication, and fluency with Florida codes.

What You'll Do:

·      Operate CAD to create shop drawings for large commercial projects

·      Read contract drawings and equipment submittals

·      Set up and maintain BIM Execution Plans and drawing packages

·      Prepare shop/detail and as-built drawings; use REVIT for shop drawings

·      Perform material take-offs and generate RFI responses

·      Coordinate plumbing with trades and ensure isometrics and pipe layouts

·      Develop and maintain HVAC/Plumbing piping families; coordinate with vendors and field

·      Ensure compliance with codes, permits, and government/utility requirements

·      Maintain drawing logs and project records; secure documents

·      Share knowledge and adapt to process changes for project execution

Key requirements

·      Minimum of ten years of MEP & HVAC experience

·      Ability to pass safety onboarding and English communication requirements

·      A.A. degree in design/drafting or equivalent

·      Proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit MEP, and 3D detailing tools

·      Ability to read drawings, perform field surveys, and meet deadlines

·      Strong communication, organization, problem-solving and teamwork skills

·      Code knowledge and experience with local Florida construction codes

·      High integrity and accountability; customer-focused and collaborative
