Field Service Technician

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Service Technician is a customer-based position that requires a self-directed individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The Field Service Technician will travel to customer sites and communicate directly with customers. A high level of customer service, in-depth project knowledge and experience, and industry-specific technical expertise are necessary for this role. This position involves a high level of travel that may come on little notice, impacting the regular work schedule.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

·         Observe and follow all ClimateCraft and job site health and safety rules

·         Identification, ordering, and delivery of warranty and service parts and labor

·         Travel to customer job sites to perform warranty and service activities, including support of ClimateCraft and contractor operations

·         Use the ClimateCraft Service Request system to document and track customer service activities

·         Issue quotations and process parts and service orders

·         Participate in the investigation, solution development, and implementation of corrective actions for internal and external problems

·         Communicate with customers and vendors in written and verbal form

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Abilities

Education:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         Associate degree preferred

Experience:

·         3 to 5 years of progressive experience in the HVAC service industry.  Custom air handling experience preferred

Computer Skills:

·         Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Certificates & Licenses:

·         Valid Driver’s License

·         Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels

·         Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work

·         Willingness to travel frequently for long periods and on short notice

·         Willingness to work on weekends if required

·         Willingness to work day shift, 2nd shift, or if needed, night shift. 

·         Ability to work independently at the job site

·         Written and verbal communication skills
