POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, or Designee, the HR Specialist, HRIS, supports the management and implementation of department human resources information systems, including but not limited to CUNYfirst’s Human Capital Management (HCM), CUNYWork, legacy systems.
The Human Resources Specialist’s duties include but are not limited to:
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Candidate must demonstrate strong expertise and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including strong working knowledge of developing complex formulas, managing datasets, spreadsheet functions and creating pivot tables.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office is required.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft and/or Workday preferred.

The Human Resources Specialist’s duties include but are not limited to:
- Implements procedures to extract, verify, and correct data as appropriate. Lead the review of system data and make corrections as necessary while adhering to CUNY and College deadlines.
- Serves key role in the college's transition into new HRIS systems and processes and in conversion to CUNYWork system; Serves as subject matter expert, train-the-trainer and point person in data cleanup and testing.
- Develops, runs and analyzes reports and tracking systems to determine adjunct eligibility for 3 year reappointments; and ongoing monitoring of eligibility.
- Creates and runs reports from to provide information requested from other offices throughout the college; runs Monthly Employee Transaction report.
- Serves as liaison between HR and DoIT in developing and implementing technological solutions to support HR functions; serves as troubleshooter for HR IT issues.
- Liaisons with Central Office in the updating of current HRIS systems and implementation of new policies, processes and systems; analyzes new systems not currently used at the college and recommends adoption if appropriate.
- Trains systems users within HR and across the campus as appropriate.
- Processes HR actions in HCM’s Position Management, TAM, Workforce Administration.
- Acts as liaison between HR and budget for position management.
- Maintains and updates content on HR website; creates HR forms.
- Runs mass reappointment processes in CUNYFirst for Adjuncts, HEOs, College Assistants.
- Maintains data integrity; updates salaries in CUNYfirst, including increments and contractual raises;.ensures accurate record retention for the Office of Human Resources.

- Helps create innovative communications such as manuals, web pages, or employee meetings and provides these to the College community
- Performs related duties as assigned.
