The Department of Art & Music seeks Adjunct Lecturers or Adjunct Assistant Professors to teach courses in Art History.
The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in western art from antiquity to the modern era. Instructors must be available for students during office hours on a regular weekly basis. Classes may be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekend, and may include distance-learning formats as needed. Professional development activities may be assigned for new instructors as appropriate.
The department is especially interested in candidates who are committed to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population in an urban community-college setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
For Adjunct Assistant Professor:
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.
For Adjunct Lecturer:
Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
For Adjunct Assistant Professor:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
For Adjunct Lecturer: $107.79/hr
For Adjunct Assistant Professor: $116.56/hr

- Minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience in the field.

- Master’s degree in art history preferred; Candidates with a bachelor’s in art history with extensive teaching experience will be considered.
- Some college-level teaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to teach successfully.
- Community college teaching experience preferred.
- Experience teaching survey courses in Western Art History and incorporating inclusive pedagogical practices.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
