Job Summary
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for assisting with the delivery of community programs through the setup, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment, materials and supplies at city facilities. May also assist with clerical and customer service duties. Reports to a Manager or designee.
Essential Functions
- Sets up staging, tables and chairs, decorations, etc. for events and meetings;
- Prepares and/or arranges for refreshments, maintains inventory and clean-up of kitchen area;
- Cleans required areas of facilities, including trash removal and other custodial duties;
- Assists facility staff in various manual labor and/or clerical tasks (run errands, pick-up supplies, answer phones, etc.)
- Assists with customer service duties;
- Completes all required logs and paperwork;
- Maintains security of building during events;
- Reports safety hazards to the immediate supervisor;
- Effectively communicates with the general public, co-workers, supervisors, and city officials;
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience in community services or event work.
- First aid and CPR certification preferred (or required to obtain within 60 days of hire).
- Possess a valid Florida driver's license.
- Must successfully pass a background screening (may require a Level II screening depending on department assignment).
- Must be able to work in indoors and/or outdoors, including standing or sitting for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift or move objects and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and/or weekends.
Position Requirements/Qualifications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires moderate physical effort including lifting up to 50 pounds. May require frequent crouching, kneeling, bending, and stooping. Frequent periods of standing or walking may be required.
