PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE
The Accounting & Operations Specialist supports key accounting and operational functions, including invoice processing in Sage Intacct, general ledger activities, and month-end and year-end close. The position also partners across the organization to provide internal technology help desk support, assist with audit processes, and contribute to financial analysis and special projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, Code, and input invoices into Sage Intacct.
- Manage and Maintain Equipment/Technology Inventory.
- Prepare journal entries monthly to record fixed asset additions, deletions, and depreciation expense.
- Update square footage allocations for all TCS locations on a monthly basis.
- Monthly reconciliation of assigned Balance Sheet Accounts.
- Month-End Close assignments.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules & research.
- Prepare financial projections and analysis for special projects.
- Assist with annual vendor audit to ensure maximum cost savings for the organization.
- Identify areas for efficiency improvements that result in cost savings for the organization.
- Assist with the implementation of efficiency tools across the organization.
- Manage the internal technology help desk and provide excellent customer service in responding to help desk ticket requests.
- Assist with the internal audit function as needed.
- Support the CFO in special project projections and financial analysis.
- All other duties as assigned.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
- Report for work as scheduled on time.
- Attend all agency-required training during the year.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger Accounting.
- Experience in computerized accounting processes.
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with persons from diverse cultures and communities, as well as from different groups, including children, their parents, agency colleagues, support staff members, supervisors, administrators, and the legal and judicial system, and demonstrate a good public presence.
- Computer experience, including Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, and Sage Intacct.
- Ability to manage the internal technology help desk and provide excellent internal customer service.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance are required.
