The Children's Lung, Asthma & Sleep Specialists is seeking compassionate and motivated Full-Time and Part-Time Sleep Technologists to join our growing pediatric sleep medicine team in Tallahassee, Florida.
No previous sleep laboratory experience required! We are willing to train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic, excellent patient care skills, and a desire to learn the field of pediatric sleep medicine.
What You'll Do
- Prepare patients for overnight sleep studies by applying electrodes and monitoring equipment.
- Monitor patients throughout overnight sleep studies while ensuring accurate data collection.
- Perform and monitor Polysomnography (PSG), PAP titration studies, Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWT), Car Seat Testing, and research studies.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to patient needs throughout testing.
- Document observations and clinical events accurately during studies.
- Score sleep studies and prepare preliminary reports.
- Prepare, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain sleep laboratory equipment.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sleep laboratory environment.
- Coordinate scheduling, research studies, sleep laboratory documentation, and equipment maintenance.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for sleep laboratory support.
- Perform data backups and maintain accurate laboratory records.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Previous sleep laboratory experience is not required; we will train the right candidate.
- Current BLS certification or the ability to obtain certification after hire.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work overnight shifts.
- Comfortable working with pediatric patients and their families.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT), or previous sleep laboratory experience is a plus but not required.
