The Children's Ear, Nose, Throat & Allergy (CENTA) is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Insurance Eligibility Specialist to join our growing pediatric specialty practice in Orlando, Florida. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient service while ensuring insurance coverage is verified accurately and efficiently before patient appointments.
As an Insurance Eligibility Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping families receive timely care by verifying benefits, identifying authorization requirements, and communicating financial responsibilities with professionalism and compassion.
Responsibilities
- Verify medical insurance eligibility and benefits for scheduled patient appointments.
- Confirm patient demographics and insurance information for accuracy.
- Determine deductible, copayment, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket responsibilities.
- Identify referral and prior authorization requirements.
- Contact insurance carriers through payer portals and by phone when necessary.
- Document eligibility information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communicate insurance issues or coverage limitations to patients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Collaborate with scheduling, front desk, billing, and clinical teams to resolve eligibility concerns prior to appointments.
- Assist with resolving insurance discrepancies and registration errors.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of medical insurance verification or medical front office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care plans.
- Understanding of referrals, prior authorizations, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
- Experience with electronic medical records (NextGen experience is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
