Summary:
Works under the supervision of RNs and LPNs to provide assistive care and communication for patients, team members, professional, and technical staff, and visitors.

Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Experience
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Current BLS certification required
Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Basic Life Support

* High School Diploma Graduate or Equivalent
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:

* 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Patient Care Support or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Certified Medical Assistant AAMA
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
- Certified Medical Assistant ARMA
- Certified Patient Care Technician
- Certified Emergency Medical Technician ADPH
9 Quarterback is an 18 bed unit that provides nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative pediatric patients ages birth to young adults. This range in age creates a unit which offers exposure to great diversity in terms of age and developmental stages of patients, as well as diversity in surgical diagnosis and procedures. It is a challenging backdrop for those nurses with experience, as well as for those new graduates seeking to develop a strong and varied knowledge base in pediatric surgical nursing.
