Summary:
The Clinic Coordinator – Specialty Care Services is a registered nurse who provides day-to-day operational leadership for one or more ambulatory specialty clinics within Children’s of Alabama. This role coordinates patient care activities, supports providers and staff, and ensures safe, efficient, family-centered services in alignment with Children’s policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Clinic Coordinator collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient flow, staff performance, and the overall patient and family experience.
Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
    - Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
    - Registered Nurse Non-AL NLC Multi State
* Basic Life Support
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Masters of Science Nursing in Nursing or any of the following equivalent qualifications below:
    - Bachelor of Science Nursing in Nursing and 4 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Experience RN
    - Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing and 7 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Experience RN
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Includes six Board Certified Pediatric Nephrologist, 1 Board Certified Pediatric Hepatologist, 9 Board Certified Infectious Disease Physicians. Some specialty Services provided are renal and liver transplant, nephrotic syndrome, hematuria, ESRD and Post Covid Care. Academic Fellows, Residents, and Certified Nurse Practitioners also provide care in this area under the supervision of the attending MD. We provide an array of multidisciplinary services to our complex patients with chronic conditions including but not limited to: surgical, medical, pharmacy, nutrition, financial coordinator and psycho-social team (social workers, psychologists, family counselors, school teachers and child life specialists). Basic referral information is required for new patient consults and information may be requested prior to arrival for appointment related to symptoms, prior history, test and procedures performed.
